Supporting arts in criminal justice through COVID-19
Please note the information contained in this post may no longer be up to date.
Clinks and the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance are working to support the voluntary sector and people delivering arts activity in the criminal justice system through the ongoing impact of Covid-19.
Access to prisons
The impact of regime restrictions brought in under Covid-19 continues to cause disruption to arts provision in prisons. Where practitioners have gained access, they are increasingly faced with additional challenges that impact their work.
We’ll be discussing these challenges and how they can be approached at a network forum on 13th December – you can find out more and sign up here. If you’d like to share with us your experience of gaining access to prisons post-lockdown, you can email us on info@artsincriminaljustice.org.uk.
The criminal justice system
Public Health England and the Ministry of Justice publish information for healthcare staff and custodial staff in addressing COovid-19 in prisons and other prescribed places of detention on this page.
If you have further questions, you should speak to your local sponsor or link person within the establishments or probation areas that you work in in the first instance. If you have concerns or have a specific question that you are struggling to have answered, together with HMPPS, Clinks has set up a dedicated mailbox for criminal justice organisations’ related questions at covid19@clinks.org.
Arts and culture
Arts Council England publishes new information on its Covid-19 information page. It continues to administer support through the Culture Recovery Fund.
