The Longford Trust has announced details for its 2018 Longford Lecture.

The broadcaster Jon Snow, one of its trustees, will chair a panel discussion on the theme ‘Why People Stop Doing Crime’. He will be joined by three current Longford Scholars, ex-prisoners who are studying for degrees with the trust’s support, plus the acclaimed actor Michael Balogun, who took up drama while inside.

Together – with contributions from distinguished voices in the audience – they will set out proposals to reduce the prison population and promote the rehabilitation of offenders. It will be broadcast live on National Prison Radio.
