Sarah Colvin
Advisory Board member
Sarah is a professor at the University of Cambridge with a longstanding interest in arts in prisons. In 2010 she was part of the academic team that evaluated the “Inspiring Change” project in Scotland, whose results were published in 2011. She has published work on theatre in prisons, women’s writing from the prison, and the difficulties faced by people in prison in having their voices heard. Her most recent book is Shadowland: The Story of Germany Told by its Prisoners (Reaktion Books 2022), an alternative history of Germany told in the voices and through the experiences of people in prison.
