Lou Clark
NCJAA Manager

Lou took up the role of NCJAA Manager in September 2024, having previously worked with Clinks as a Development Worker in the Southwest and Wales for 7 years and with Nacro as a voluntary sector coordinator in a women’s prison, where she also worked on a film project with women returning to Wales and was often an extra voice in the regular prison concerts! She has a degree in Interactive Arts, runs art sessions in her local heritage centre and volunteers with two local arts festivals, that have used her poetry in associated installations.

She wrote and delivered the Clinks Working in Prisons training and led on the Good Prison project to enhance the understanding and importance of the voluntary sector working in prisons. She also specialised in women offenders, having managed one of the early women’s centres to divert women from custody, developed the national Sex Workers in Prison project following her Griffins Society research and was also an associate researcher on the 4 year Sex Work Wales project at the University of Swansea.

After a career break and some world travel, she trained as a horticultural therapist and wellness in nature craft practitioner and in recent years supported neuro diverse adults in community gardens and city farms. She recently escaped city living for the Forest of Dean and as well as returning to working in criminal justice part-time, continues to enjoy art and nature in her spare time.
