Rebecca Friel
Advisory Board member
Rebecca is CEO of Odd Arts which she co-founded in 2004 whilst studying Drama at the University of Manchester. During this time Rebecca studied with Augusto Boal in Brazil; experiencing theatre in prisons first in Rio, and still delivering projects in UK prisons. Rebecca is a member of Europe’s Radicalisation Awareness Network; an alumni of the US Embassy cultural exchange programme on Countering Violent Extremism; and has a particular interest in using theatre to overcome inequalities & improve wellbeing. Rebecca was awarded an MBE for Services to Education & the Community in Manchester in 2022.
