2018-2019 has been an exciting time for the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance. With continued high-level governmental support, we have improved our regional, training and inclusion offer, grown our network and influence, and seen an increasing understanding from audiences of the value of arts and culture in criminal justice. However, we know our network faces unprecedented challenges and we want to work together to ensure this important sector can thrive.
Thank you to all those who responded to our online annual survey, which has contributed to this review. We were surprised to learn that despite ongoing challenges in the sector, over half of the artists and organisations that responded to our annual survey reported expanding their services in the past year.
Our annual review celebrates the collective achievements of our network and shows the development of a stronger, braver alliance.
It is much easier being part of a collective voice when influencing than being a small, lone voice.”
