SUMMARY:I am the Coyote
DESCRIPTION:28th August 2019 – 12th January 2020\nUniversity of Hull\nFree \nNovus\, the University of Hull and HMP Humber have collaborated on an exhibition titled I am the Coyote\, which aims to show the power of art as a rehabilitation tool in prisons over 45 years. \nI am the Coyote includes art produced from the Special Unit 74 and HMP Humber’s GRAFT Studio\, the largest art college in the UK prison sector and a unique space where prisoners are able to focus on creativity and its benefits. Colour photographs document the group thinking and creative process as well as the experiential teaching strategies. \nThe exhibition has been commissioned as part of the University’s Culture Campus initiative and is on show at the Brynmor Jones Library. \nOur vision is to wholeheartedly embrace provocative topics and encourage discussion and debate across our campus. This exhibition will do just that and we couldn’t be more delighted.\nMarianne Lewsley-Stier\, Head of Culture Campus at the University of Hull \nThe exhibition is accompanied by a series of free workshops\, screenings and debates. \n\nFind out more here\n\nImage courtesy of Culture Campus\, University of Hull

DESCRIPTION:31st January – 27th March 2020\nVarious prisons in England\nFree \nGood Vibrations‘ play-throughs are the culmination of its gamelan courses. These courses help prisoners\, patients in high security hospitals\, former prisoners and vulnerable people in the community to develop crucial life and work skills such as communication and team-working. On this course we’ll be offering participants the opportunity to gain an OCN Team-working qualification award for the first time. \nHMP Manchester – morning of Friday 28th February (likely start time 10.00am)\nHMP Manchester\, formerly known as Strangeways\, is a local prison which accepts people remanded into custody.  We will be running morning sessions only with a performance on the last day. \nHMP Liverpool – morning of Friday 27th March (likely start time 10.00am)\nThis will be our fourth visit to HMP Liverpool\, a category B/C local men’s prison.
