DESCRIPTION:Synergy Studio is offering a free ten-week introduction to acting course for ex-prisoners starting in January. Participants will learn techniques used by professional actors and explore them in fun\, practical sessions\, leading to a short performance for an invited audience. This course is accredited and provides opportunities for further progression in acting. No previous experience is required\, just a commitment and a willingness to join in. SUMMARY:The Other Side of the Wall - Geese Theatre Company training
DESCRIPTION:Run by Geese Theatre Company\, the Other Side of the Wall is a three-day course on the use of theatre and drama with offenders and young people at risk of offending. Participants will experience and practice a variety of drama-based methods for use in group work\, while exploring some of the basic principles behind Geese’s work. \nThe course is limited to 10 participants. No previous drama or theatre experience is necessary; however a willingness to actively explore new methods of working is an essential requirement. \nThe next courses will be happening from 22nd – 24th March 2017 in Birmingham\, and 26th – 28th April 2017 in Edinburgh. \nClick here for more information on the course. \nThe cost of each course is £330 per person. SUMMARY:Free four week radio drama project for ex-prisoners
DESCRIPTION:Synergy Studio is offering a free four week radio drama project for ex-prisoners starting this May. Taking inspiration from the V&A’s major exhibition on Pink Floyd\, participants will learn how to write a short drama for radio. Each participant will get to record their drama in a professional radio production studio. No previous experience is necessary\, just a commitment and a willingness to give it a try. DESCRIPTION:This seminar from the Westminster Media Forum will focus on cultural funding in England: the new financial landscape\, diversifying income streams and policy priorities. It will examine next steps for tackling the funding challenges facing the cultural sector in England\, and the latest progress in implementing proposals set out in the Culture White Paper. Sessions will consider the way forward for securing a fair balance of public investment across England and promoting effective financial governance within the sector\, with particular focus on mitigating the impact of further predicted reductions to local authority\, grant-in-aid and lottery funding to support a sustainable and competitive sector moving forwards. \nThe event is taking place on 27th April 2017 in central London\, with cost ranging from £80 – £210. \nClick here for more information. \n
