SUMMARY:We Made This: Koestler Trust at Turner Contemporary
DESCRIPTION:1st March – 19th May\nTurner Contemporary\, Margate\nFree \nThe Koestler Trust is staging its first exhibition in the South East at Margate’s Turner Contemporary. \nWe Made This features over 70 artworks made by people in prisons\, young offender institutions\, secure hospitals and on probation in Kent and Sussex will be on display. SUMMARY:The Other Side of the Wall (Mental health specific)
DESCRIPTION:27th – 29th March 2019\nMoseley\, Birmingham\n£420 \nGeese Theatre Company has worked in arts-based practice in criminal justice\, social welfare and forensic mental health for 30 years. Alongside its work within these settings\, the company regularly facilitates training courses on its use of theatre and drama techniques in group-work settings. \nThis specialist three-day course ‘The Other Side of the Wall’ is an opportunity to learn more about the methodology behind Geese’s work\, for staff working in community or secure settings with patients or service users who have mental health issues or personality disorders. \nThe course is recommended for: \n\nTherapists (e.g. OTs\, SaLTs or arts-based therapists)\nPsychologists\nProgramme facilitators\nActivities co-ordinators\n\nHowever\, it is open to anyone who has experience of\, or who is interested in\, working in this field. \nParticipants will be invited to experience and practice a variety of drama-based methods for use in group-work. This will be underpinned by a clear\, theoretical framework and guidance from experienced Geese practitioners.
