DESCRIPTION:30th January – April 2019\nOpening event Wednesday 30th January (from 2pm)\nRadzinowicz Library\, University of Cambridge\nFree \nDrawing Connections will exhibit work from an eight-week project bringing together residents at HMP Springhill with students from the local Banbury and Bicester College Art Faculty in a series of artist-led workshops held at HMP Springhill. \nIn addition to selected works from the project\, visitors will be able to see the library’s permanent selection of Koestler Awards artworks – and meet participants and enjoy light refreshments at the exhibition’s opening on 30th January. \nThe exhibition continues until April 2019. \nPlease confirm attendance by emailing crimlib@hermes.cam.ac.uk \nClick here for more information about the project \n\nImage courtesy of Rebecca Greene

SUMMARY:We Made This: Koestler Trust at Turner Contemporary
DESCRIPTION:1st March – 19th May\nTurner Contemporary\, Margate\nFree \nThe Koestler Trust is staging its first exhibition in the South East at Margate’s Turner Contemporary. \nWe Made This features over 70 artworks made by people in prisons\, young offender institutions\, secure hospitals and on probation in Kent and Sussex will be on display. DESCRIPTION:Thursday 21st March – Friday 22nd March\nGreat North Museum\, Newcastle upon Tyne\n£50 – £120 \nThe Culture\, Health and Wellbeing Alliance\, a new national organisation representing everyone who believes that cultural engagement and participation can transform our health and wellbeing\, is holding its first annual conference in Newcastle upon Tyne in March. \n‘Cultures of Health and Wellbeing’ is a two-day conference aimed at those working within arts/heritage/creativity and health/wellbeing – or those interested in learning more about this work. It will hopefully be a chance to explore the particular challenges and opportunities presented by a time of unprecedented growth and public interest \nThe conference will focus on the following themes: \nCulture \n\nWhat does ‘culture’ mean to us?\nHow does health and wellbeing work in the arts\, museums and libraries intersect with cultural histories and identities?\nHow do cultural concerns like food\, craft\, nature and spirituality fit with this work?\nDigital cultures: Artificial Intelligence\, Virtual Reality – future culture and future health\nHow does work with culture\, health and wellbeing address social inequalities\, and create sustainable social practices?\n\nPractice \n\nIn a time of unprecedented interest in and momentum within the sector\, what models of practice might help us grow and thrive?\nHow can we develop the relationship between practice and research?
